The Gift Right in Front of Us
It is such a curious thing about the human heart…
We can spend so much time looking toward what is missing that we forget to notice the beautiful things God has already placed right in front of us.
We look at the garden and wish for more flowers, while missing the one tiny bloom opening faithfully in the corner.
We wish for tomorrow’s blessings while overlooking today’s quiet gifts.
We count the things we don’t have, while God gently whispers, “Look around. I have given you so much.”
Contentment is not found in having everything we want. It is found in recognizing that what God has given us today is enough because He is enough.
There is a sweetness that comes when we slow down and notice the little treasures scattered throughout our days…
A deer in the backyard
A new little Grandson who lives right across the street.
A warm cup of coffee held between our hands.The sound of laughter from someone we love.
The comfort of home.
A handwritten note.
A song that reminds our soul of heaven.
A moment of peace in the middle of a busy world.
These little gifts are not little at all.
They are love notes from our Father.
The enemy would love for us to keep our eyes fixed on what is missing, because a heart always searching for more can easily forget to be thankful for what is already here.
But gratitude turns our eyes back toward God.
It reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from Him.
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Lord, teach me to notice the blessings I often walk past. Help me to stop chasing what I think I need and to treasure what You have already placed in my hands.
Open my eyes to the beauty of today.
May my heart learn the quiet joy of saying…
“Thank You, Lord, for this moment. Thank You for this season. Thank You for the gifts I almost missed.”
Because sometimes the greatest blessings are not waiting somewhere ahead…
They are sitting right beside us, patiently waiting to be noticed.
