When God Sends the Rain
"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." — Psalm 118:24
The thunder rolled. The lightning flashed. Then, almost as if the Lord whispered, the rain settled into a gentle rhythm against the trees.
This morning feels like an invitation.
An invitation to leave the rush behind, put on a pot of coffee, tidy a few corners of the house, work a few stitches into a cross-stitch project, and let soft music—or maybe an old favorite movie—play quietly in the background.
Some days God moves mountains.
Other days He simply sends rain.
He slows the pace, washes the dust from the world, and reminds us that there is beauty in ordinary moments. We don't always have to chase the next big thing. Sometimes the sweetest blessings are found in the quiet—a warm home, grateful hearts, and the gentle sound of rain falling outside the window.
Today doesn't need to be extraordinary to be sacred.
Perhaps that's one of God's greatest gifts: teaching us to find Him in the simple moments.
So today, I'll enjoy the rain, thank Him for His goodness, and embrace this peaceful, whimsical day He has lovingly prepared.
