November 4 -- Wednesday’s Gratitude: The Wonderful Gift of Ordinary Things

There’s something rather wonderful about an ordinary Wednesday.

Not a birthday. Not a holiday. Not a day marked with anything particularly exciting on the calendar.

Just Wednesday.

A day for fuzzy slippers, a second cup of coffee, a half-finished crochet project, a little flour on the kitchen counter, Peanutbutter cookies, and perhaps a conversation that lasts longer than expected.

Oh, how I love the little things!

The sound of leaves dancing across the porch. A favorite mug warming my hands. A Bible resting open beside my chair. The smell of something delicious bubbling away in the kitchen.

None of these things would make the evening news. Yet each one is a little reminder of God's goodness.

Sometimes I wonder how many beautiful gifts we hurry right past while waiting for something extraordinary to happen.

Perhaps the extraordinary has been tucked inside the ordinary all along.

“This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 (NASB)

So today, I'm thanking God for Wednesdays. For the wonderfully ordinary, beautifully simple, easily overlooked blessings that make a life so rich.

Because a grateful heart doesn't need an extraordinary day to find something worth celebrating.

It just needs eyes to see.

Today's little gratitude: Thank You, Lord, for the sweet, ordinary moments that turn out to be extraordinary gifts.
