Quiet Beginnings
This morning I slept in and felt the heaviness of a not-so-good night’s sleep. Too many thoughts and too many ideas floating through my mind. Journaling, reading, pottery wheels, clay, and creative dreams all swirling together as I think about new projects on the horizon.
Yet somewhere in the middle of the mental noise, I realized something beautiful — God often stirs new things in us before we fully understand where He is leading.
Sometimes the tiredness comes because our minds are full. Full of wondering. Full of creating. Full of longing to make something meaningful with the gifts God has placed inside us.
A lump of clay on a pottery wheel begins shapeless and messy before it becomes something beautiful in the hands of the potter. Maybe we are not so different.
God gently molds us through every season — the restful ones, the uncertain ones, and even the restless nights when our minds refuse to quiet down.
Perhaps today is not about having all the answers or finishing every project. Perhaps it is simply about sitting quietly with the Creator and trusting that He knows exactly what He is shaping next.
And maybe those little sparks of excitement about journaling, creating, reading, and dreaming are reminders that life is still unfolding beautifully.
“Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” — Isaiah 64:8
