Weeding the Garden
Poem
The weeds can grow without a seed,
And crowd the flowers that we need.
A bitter thought, a jealous heart,
Can quietly grow and do their part.
But weeds don't mean that we have failed,
Or that our garden has derailed.
They simply show what needs our care,
And call us back to God in prayer.
The Gardener knows what lies below,
The hidden roots we cannot show.
With gentle hands, He clears the ground,
So faith and love may still abound.
I'll trust His care when roots run deep,
And guard the garden that I keep.
For where His truth and love take root,
A tended heart bears lasting fruit.
We need not hide the weeds we grow,
But bring them to the One who knows.
With open hearts, His help we seek,
For in His strength, we're not too weak.
“For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” — 2 Peter 1:8 (NIV)
