It is such a comfort to drop the tangles of life into God's hands and leave them there.
Mom goes in for another knee surgery tomorrow. Pray that the pain is manageable for her and that her body heals quickly. Also Pray that this works for her and that she can walk with out pain again. ( Cute picture of her and me with her little beach hat on....) I am planning on going up to the hospital with them tomorrow... dad and I can hang out while mom is having her knee fixed up.
Another prayer I'd like to send your way as well....a family friend of ours just lost their 25 year old son on the 28th of December and as you can imagine they were devastated. We went to the gathering to pay our respects this Saturday and I still can't believe this has happened. My prayer request is to have God wrap a blanket of healing, comfort and love on this family. Help us to know how and when to be there for them as well. I really didn't even know what to say to them other than hug them and cry.
Our oldest son is having some health issues and has moved back in with us for a few weeks. I love having him around but sad that he is not feeling well.
My tree is still up along with all the other decorations. I am so not motivated to put this stuff away! I'm thinking if Christmas music playing in the back ground inspired me to put all this stuff up, do you think if I played the music backwards it would inspire me to take it all down?
Drove the daughter back up to B-ham yesterday, classes start today for her along with a new Volleyball work out schedule. I sure hope and pray her knee has healed enough to start this work out. She seems to think it is fine and it has been about two years off for her now.
Why is it that the trip up there is so short yet the trip home seems so very long? As I look over at the chair next to me I see her winter coat...ugh!
Guess I'm off to the post office.
Have a wonderful week everyone...and remember, when the load is to heavy, hand it to God...He is our strength!
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you.

such a cute picture of you and 'Sparkle' in one of ny favorite places. Give her a big 'Pre-Op' hug from me. Her knee WILL be better. I'm looking forward to a lot of Beach Walks to come.
You and your family are in my prayers, Christine. That is so sad about your Family Friend passing. It's very difficult, scripture says there are times when we just need to be quiet, and it sounds like the services for paying your respects was one of those times....Enjoy your time with your Dad tomorrow and wish for your Mother to have a speedy recovery.
Oh Christine, so many things going on for you right now. I hope your mom sails through her surgery and is soon feeling much better. I hope that your son's IBS will get under control so that he feels better too. I can't imagine a harder thing that losing a child, no matter what age.
You and your family are in my prayers. I am sure your mom will do well tomorrow. Too bad I can't be her nurse :-) Yes, your son needs to stay on a diet but I'm sure that is so hard at his age. I assume he has a good GI specialist?? So sorry to hear about your friend as well. You do have a lot on your plate. You know God doesn't give us more than we can handle. Not to worry, my Christmas stuff is all still up. I hate the thought of taking it all down. I keep saying, just one more night!! Keep me posted!
Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your son, and also your friend's son who passed away. I'll keep them, and your mom in my prayers this week. I love the quote you put at the beginning of your post - drop the tangles of life into God's hands and leave them there - what a wonderful mindset.
Also, I know what you mean about the tree! Mine is still up, and it just isn't much fun to take it all down! All of our boxes are up in the attic, too, which means we have to get back up there, get them all back down - yuck. I wish I could hire someone to come do it for me!
I hope you have a wonderful week - Hugs! :)
You know what is funny?? My tree is still up too... don't want to..yep! That's my reason.. don't want to!
Praying for your Momma and her knee surgery tomorrow... ouch! I know that they have so many amazing new technologies now these days and recovery is alot better..but still!
So glad that the sweet and sour part of the chicken recipe worked for your pork chops... you have to tell me where they bone in chops or boneless? And how long did you cook them for at what temp?? Inquiring minds NEED to know :) Would love to try that! Yum!
Praying blessings over you this night!
Amy

Christi...you've got a lot on your plate. I am praying for you. Connie
I am so glad that your Mom is doing good... I pray her recovery is quick, and that her healing would make that knee stronger than it was before...with NO MORE problems...
Hope you are having a wonderful week! And I would be honored if you posted that recipe! I love passing on a good thing.. so please please do! Hugs.. Amy
a lot going on huh? Well, good thoughts coming to you from Virginia and prayers for your family.
I was just thinking of you - I'm praying for you, sweet friend :)
Thank-you all very much for your thoughts, kind comments and prayers. Mom did really good the first day out of the hospital, but really over did it the first day home, ended up taking her crutches to her late last night since she couldn't even walk. Need to keep her down and resting.
Picked up dad this morning to take him into Seattle's Swedish hospital. He was having some very strong pains...he was there pretty much all day, brought him home tonight. They don't know what it is, but I guess they have eliminated kidney stones. He has to go into see his regular doctor this coming week for some scans to determine the problem.
