A gift a day...December 9

Needed for this project: heavy gauge wire, fresh bag of cranberries and some raffia

I bent my wire at the very end making a little loop to connect the other end for after I finished threading the cranberries. Don't worry if you have a little gap here and there between cranberries...raffia covers a multitude of gaps..I say this because as I was forming my heart out of the circle I lost a few cranberries...oops.

Cut two wires the same length. You need to figure out what size heart you want and start threading your cranberries onto the wire.

You need two make two circles and then put one on top of the other.
Shape your two circles into hearts and begin at the bottom of the heart and start wrapping your raffia around the heart leaving a nice size tail...the length of the tail is up to you. I say go a little long...you can always cut the excess off. If your raffia runs out before you get to the bottom just take some more strings of the raffia and feed it into the raffia you are using so that you can finish going around the entire heart. When you get to the bottom of the heart tie a knot.

Now hang it on your window for all to see and enjoy. I made one as a gift and a few more to keep here for my windows.

The nice thing about cranberries is that stay firm for a week or more, then gradually dry out and become even a richer red, which means they will easily out last the festive season. If you are going to use your frozen berries then you will want to let your wreath lay flat on a towel so that you don't get drips from the un-thawing.

I love that! The raffia really sets the color of those berries off.
