Just finished up a study in the book of Esther with the ladies in our Wednesday evening class. I don't know if you have ever taken the time to delve into that book but I highly recommend it to every follower of Christ, although, I highly recommend every book in the Bible! You will find Esther tucked in between the books of Nehemiah and Job in the Old testament.

A couple things to ponder in the book of Esther:

God is never mentioned in the book of Esther, not even once, yet He is all over the pages of it.

Surround yourself with wise counsel.

No one can keep God out of a place that He has a mind to be in.

Esther was married to a immature hot head and had to choose her words, how much she shared and her battles with the king very carefully.

The power is not with in you or I. The power is in the prayer and the fasting and answered through God.

Just because you with hold information that wasn't asked of you doesn't mean it is a lie. It takes wisdom to know when to speak up and when to keep silent.

Be careful of digging a grave for another man. The grave you dig today for someone else, may very well be the grave you are buried in tomorrow.

Haman wanted to destroy the Jewish people. Esther didn't set out to destroy Haman, but to save the Jewish people.

If you won't do His work for Him then He will find another who will.

Powerful statement from Esther: If I die, I die. Esther 4:16

Don't be intimidated about digging into the old testament. Ask for wisdom and the leading of the Holy Spirit and dig on in and get to know this God we serve a little better. I am heading over to the book of Ruth next, who knows, maybe we will bump into one another there.

Blessings
