The prophecy in Isaiah 53:1-12
Fulfillment in the New Testament
1 Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
(John 12:37-38, Romans 10:16) |
2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
(Mark 9:12, Luke 17:25, John 1:10-11, 1 Peter 2)
4 Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
(Matthew 8:16-17, Galatians 3:13, Matthew 27:38-44, Luke 23:35)
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
(Matthew 26:62-63, 27:12-14, Mark 14:60-61, 15:3-15, John 19:9, Acts 8:32-35)
8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was punished.
9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the LORD makes his life an offering for sin,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
(1 Corinthians 15:3, Hebrews 10:12-14)
11 After he has suffered,
he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.
(Acts 13:38-39, Romans 5:17-19)
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.
(Matthew 28:18, Luke 24:27,Matthew 27:38, Mark 15:27-28, Luke 23:32-33, Luke 23:34, 39-43, Romans 8:34)
The price
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice saying, 'ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?'' that is My God, My God, WHY HAST THOU FORSAKEN ME?
And when it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. This man came to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered the body to be given to him. Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the entrance of the tomb and went away.
Matthew 27:57-60
1 Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.
2And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away )the stone and sat upon it.
3And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
4The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men.
5The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified.
6"He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.
7"Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you."
8And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples.
9And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.
Mans fall began in a Garden
Christ’s beginning to right that fall began in a garden.

May everyone of our Easter baskets be filled with the teaching of the fulfillment of the prophecy.
Teaching our children the truth of this sacred Holiday.
And He planned for parents to answer and teach, so children might learn: “And you shall tell your son in that day, saying, ‘This is done because of what the LORD did for me… (Exodus 13:8)
