Let's Be Friends...

One of the last things I'd ever really thought about when I first started journaling online was that I'd make friends here. My whole motivation behind this blog of mine was and still is, to keep in touch with my kids/family, ramble, keep recipes, (Nothing like getting calls after midnight for a family recipe) family traditions for my children and to keep in touch with the ones who have already moved out of my nest here.

Well so much for the communication part with the kids on here! They read my blogs but don't communicate much on here, unless of course, I get the story I am telling on here wrong! At that point I pretty much told them all, it is my blog, go tell your version on your own page! Of course they do not and continue to pop in and keep me in line on my blog, or should I say, they try to keep me in line?

I will never forget the first comment I received on my journal from a non family member...I was so nervous and freaked out that someone I didn't even know would be the most remote interested in reading past the first paragraph of my journal, much less make it through to the end and than leave a nice comment to boot.

Here I am now, finding myself in the evenings falling in love with all the wonderful lives and creative folks in bloggy land. There really isn't anyone on my friends list that I wouldn't just love to meet someday. As a matter of fact, I feel as though I have already met everyone here already - I mean really.... just from all of the sharing of our daily lives and events on here, I mean really, how can you feel like you have not already met?

I will tell you this, my family sure has enjoyed some new and exciting meals around here! I have thoroughly enjoyed gleaning ideas from everyone I have met on here. If it wasn't a meal that drew me to you than it was a book or a home improvement idea or just your thoughts and ideas that impacted me in some small way, ideas that I'd never looked at in that light before. Even something as small as a comment you have left here for me to soak in as well...you are truly appreciated by me...so thank-you very much for adding to my small life here.

Karen is someone I found through Connie,
over at "Connie's turning 50" blog. I can truly see the three of us hooking up one day and meeting, shopping, chatting, creating, eating and lots of laughing! We are all pretty much in the same season together and for the most part, I think enjoying it. I mean really, what else are we going to do but enjoy it? I encourage all who happen to stop by and read this blog of mine today to go visit these two...you won't be disappointed in what you find over there.

Karen has passed off this, "Let's be friends" award to me and I'd like to thank-her right now. Thank-you Friend!

Good morning Christine--I echo so many of your sentiments here with regard to blogging--(my kids are exactly the same--they read but don't contribute). I feel that the friendships I've made through blogging enrich my life, and like you I would enjoy meeting each person "in real life" if circumstances allowed.

So funny you would write this, when I was feeling the same way! There have been days here in MommyWorld when I felt very alone, but when I went to my blog and read the comments or the updates by others, there was such a kindred spirit.

You are one of the funny, cool, creative, unexpected blessings that came through the blog....I love to hear from you and love to read your posts.

Very cool post. It is amazing how blogging can bring people together. sounds kind of cliche but it is true. And it is very fun to get feedback and others viewpoints on different things.

Great post!

Have a great day!

All your thoughts in this post sound like I could have written them myself.

Making friends was never my plan, but I do love it!

My husband has been teasing me about it.

You are darling! I loved this post

Thank you so much for this kind award!!! I, too, think of you as a friend I have "sort of" met... and would love to meet!!

I also agree about the surprise of blogging friendships. A good friend talked me into trying it, and it has been such a blessing to me at this season in my life! ...especially the encouragement of other Christian women!

You are a blessing to me, Christine!

I too find it weird that people read my blog...I think its more fun when they leave a comment now though. lol. Who would have thought that we would have found each other from 360 and now here either?!? Your blog is definetly a favorite of mine...I wish we were closer...concerts and dinners would be a must. Heck...you almost make me want to read a book! I am a huge Kirk Cammeron fan as well!!

Oh Christine...you are too nice. THanks for the kind words. Just checking in with a few minutes I have playing catch up at home before I head off to work. My blog time is limited right now and I don't like it. Miss you all and updating my blog. Thanks again and it would be fun to get together one day! Connie
