EGG-cellent!

Can we all say EGG-cellent! I saw this little egg project the other day on a blog that I have fallen in love with! When you finish up here you have to go visit their site...it is amazing! I am making some cookies now as I type that I discovered over there as well. This was so much fun and very rewarding! I was really afraid I was going to go through all of this work to have it not turn out.

First of all...I went to the thrift store today here in town and bought two silk ties for $2.50. It has to be silk or this project will not turn out.

Walked over to fridge and selected my eggs

Opened up silk ties and cut the fabric to fit around my egg. wrap the front of the silk facing the egg and tie it off with some string. As tight as you can with out it breaking. Don't drop egg, cuz it will break...ugh. Lost my first little egg buddy due to dropping him on the counter..ouch.

I am giddy with excitement here and really would of been happy to of just kept them as is...are they not the cutest little eggs!

Oh forgot to mention, buy a pillow case while at thrift store, you will need to wrap eggs again in pillow case fabric, once again tightly.

Drop little egg buddies in pan of water adding 1/4 cup Vinegar, put lid on a pan, set timer and boil for 20 minutes.

Look at my little egg buddies now!!!!! They turned out so cute and I was thrilled with the results.

So now head on over to "Our Best Bites" and check out the blog for yourselves! Well I need to head on out to the kitchen and take the cookies out of the oven that I was telling you about. The recipe is over there on their blog as well, look for the cookies called, "Gooey Cookie Pie Bites." They look and smell wonderful!

Seriously one of the cutest egg ideas i've seen, and I've seen a lot. Too bad I just don't have the patience. Maybe next year....lol

Have a great day!

These are lovely and I could do this here (I think). We can't get egg dye kits but I can get a silk tie. All the eggs are brown though so I'd really need to think about the color scheme : )

This is absolutely fabulous. We are having an egg decorating contest at work. Just something fun for everyone. Guess who may win it...thanks to you for this wonderful project. I think I may go see what silk ties my hubby has that he doesn't need...lol.

Thanks for sharing this. I'll let you know if I win the contest this week.

Blessings,

Gigi

Those are so amazing!! So are you putting the fire under the pan for 20 minutes, or are they just sitting in the water? I assume they are cooked, right? Is that the dumbest question of the day, because I may need some more coffee!! :)

What an EGGS-travagant way to decorate eggs! We are very impressed, in this house. This year, I'll consider it a feat to get the eggs dyed the old-fashioned way...

You are EGGS-tra crafty, Miss Chris!

I want you to know I went out and bought my ties yesterday! I don't know what they will turn out like - they didn't have very pretty ties at our Goodwill store. Of course, I forgot the old pillowcase, but I think I can scrounge one up around here somewhere. This just looks too fun! Great post!

Finally....for some reason I have overlooked your comments spot!

LOL....so I left a comment on my comment blog spot from the comment you left me. So silly of me!

AGH!!! Anyway, I'm so glad I finally found a place to reply to your posts. YEAH!

Anyway, I have heard over and over again about the book 'The Shack' and I am so curious now about it. So many Christians have said such awesome things about it. After hearing it for the 900th time I think it's time I stop at Lifeway at get the book, wouldn't you say? :D

Oh, and I love those eggs!!! I used to have the hard plastic resurrection eggs for my kids and we all loved them. For some reason I can't seem to find them now; I think I lent them to someone or the church and never got it back....oh well. I hope where ever it is other's will be blessed by those eggs and the meaning behind them.

Gosh, I'm so glad to fiiiinally be able to respond and meet you for once!

Shelley sent me here from Sit A Spell - I've known her since I was in college! I love your blog. My husband just glanced over and was amazed at the dyed easter eggs. I'll have to come back and try some of these things with my preschooler - like the easter cookies. We live in Kirkland. Great to "meet" you via your blog!
