Down with the Christmas tree and up with the Valentines boxes!

(These boxes have survived 21 years of fun!)

The month of February has always been huge for us here in our household, starting with my empty nest partner's Birthday, along with the twins Birthday and of course Valentines day!
My poor husband was really never into making big-to-do's over the Holidays until he met me. His motto in life is, "happy wife, happy life." Good motto sweet heart! So during the month of January I put out our big decorated boxes with each family members names on them. Through out the month of January we all add special gifts and notes to each others boxes all the way up until Valentines day. On Valentines day I decorate the house with all sorts of festive things...and tons of balloons! I make a special Valentines dinner with the table all decked out for the big evening as well.

We then all share together a fun dinner, open our gifts and head on out to the movies together that evening. I will spend a good part of this month making and wrapping fun and special gifts for each and everyone of my family members special boxes.

Since Alison is in college this year and won't be able to be here with us for the big Valentine celebration, I will be working on a special box to drop in the mail t0 her...or maybe we will have to hand deliver hers to her.....

Will share some more things later that I make for the boxes every year! Always fun ways to make those you love feel even more loved!

Love never fails -- never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end. 1 Cor. 13:8

I just love this. Argh. You inspire me. I wish this kinda stuff didn't stress me out... maybe when the kids are older :)
Anyway, can't wait to see what your gift ideas are.

Dear Friend, why don't you just come clean and admit you are a celebration junkie!!! You would celebrate a tornado as long as no one had been hurt in it. It is one of the marvelous things about you. You just celebrate life in general. That was God given.....

Love the new pic of the kiddles. What a great looking crew you have. A great reason to celebrate. You must have been born with the gene and I, for one, am glad. You encourage us all. There is not enough celebration of life so you are doing a great job.

Hey Christine....

Sorry I have been MIA around here but I have been reading about your holiday....just haven't commented to much on many...when I read a lot of these is like anywhere from 2-4 in the morning when I can't sleep and then just say I will be back to comment when I get to work but never get back....but I have been reading.

Oh yes I remember these and the goodies you made from last year! I think this is about the time I met you...gosh it has been a year! Are you doing any different goodies this year? I did go out and buy some tubs for my family to do this same thing last year after I read about yours...I need to take pics and share where I got this idea. I will and will let you know...and as some of your friends say...you so inspire me also!

Hugs to you! Your a special friend!
Beth

Hi Christine!
What great traditions!
We've always made V-day a big deal in our house, too. Lots of special things as well. I hope you had a good weekend & hope your mom is doing better. :)

Why do I love the pictures of those kids?? Maybe it is because they are my grandchildren..could that be why?? Beautiful pictures. I love those kids....Nana

I think that is a great idea.
I have a hubby who is not romantic at all, and hates shopping. So guess what, I buy for myself all year long. lol.
Your kids are so nice looking, and I love your pug dog too.
