Simple Woman Daybook

FOR TODAY... January 9, 2011

Outside my window... cold, very cold.

I am thinking... how much I truly enjoy this season of my life and the age of my three amazing children! Love them dearly!

I am thankful for... this amazing church family I have and the ministry God is allowing me to partake in.

I am wearing... jeans, burgundy turtle neck with fleece pull over, warm hand knitted socks, warm fuzzy slippers, gold diamond bracelet and gold diamond ear rings from my hubby.

I am remembering... All the amazing things I was able to do with my children growing up and how blessed I am to be a stay at home mom.

I am going... to be doing a lot more studying from Gods word and keeping up the sweet hour of prayer...daily.

I am currently reading... Crazy love by Francis Chan and Radical, by David Platt...amazing reads!

I am hoping... for some real down time so that I can recharge for the woman's ministry that I am involved with.

On my mind... How I can honor my Heavenly Father and make him proud to be my father.

Noticing that...my husband is an amazing son of God, husband, father, son in law, brother in law, brother and friend.

Pondering these words...who and what are our churches about? This book I am reading, "Radical," by David Platt, is really making me dig deep inside and working through some serious questions about who Jesus came to set free. When the crowds who followed him became large He started speaking in Parables so that only those who really wanted to know truth would hear it. I'd never thought about the very fact, our Lord, turned people away...or more like weeded people out. This book is amazing and yes, Radical! It really makes you question who you are in this Kingdom.

In the kitchen... Brownies out of the oven and a stack of Valentine cards on the table to address. Some gifts to finish up for my brother and his family...I know... I'm late.

Around the house... All the Christmas stuff is down and packed. Everything has been cleaned and it feels so good. Oh, and a snoring Pug at my feet.

One of my favorite things ...word that we might get snow...and a daily phone call from the kids.

Picture thought...

Radical rocked my world. Still pondering it.
I love your header photo; it makes me smile on this snowy, cold evening.
