Home made Hot Cocoa

A friend of mine gave me this Hot Cocoa recipe along with a batch of this yummy drink mixture in the most adorable jar one year for Christmas. Every year upon receiving this, I have made up my own batch, packaged it up and passed it off as gifts to friends and family as well. mmmm... sipping a cup right now!

To make this mixture:

Mix together...
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup instant nonfat dry milk
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 tsp. powder vanilla

Add this on the container of cocoa mixture:

Stir 1/4 cup mixture
3/4 cup hot milk

~enjoy!

That's funny that you posted this as I was talking to a friend that dropped by today about how she makes this and she uses the packages of Milkman powdered milk. She can't find it anymore so I am going on a hunt for her as she has a cup of this every night before she goes to bed. She was a WW team leader for 20 years.

If anyone can find it ...it would be you!...lol I've never heard of the milkman powdered milk....is it lower in points?

Found it. It's just her Safeway that stopped carrying it.
Linda says that the way she makes it is 2 points and it is considered 1 milk serving. She has one in the AM often as she is not a coffee drinker. This is how it is constructed:
1/3 cup Milkman powdered milk.
1 tsp cocoa powder ( make it rounded if you like cocoa flavor)
1 tsp Splenda
dash salt
2 tsp Cremora (this for the mouth feel of fat)
Add hot water.

She said the points between sugar and Splenda were minimal.
Where do you get the vanilla?

Safeway in the spice section has powdered Vanilla.
